Debbie's Mother Gets Baptised
On December 20, 2008 in Mesquite, Nevada, Alice Jane joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 68. The missionaries began talking with her in a park around the corner from where she lives on November 12. Debbie's whole family was present for the baptism, and best friend Megan as well. It was a lovely event. Megan and Joel gave the talks. Elise played the music, and said the opening prayer. Curtis witnessed the baptism, which took four trys. Curtis kept things light and encouraging, and finally it happened. The last time, mom said, "That didn't even feel like I went under." Kirsten conducted the music, and Debbie said the closing prayer. Elder Kevin Delgado performed the baptism, and Elder Matthew Brodhead was one of the witnesses. The Ward Mission leader, Brother Covey assisted with the baptism. It was a really wonderful event for our whole family.
